Are you wondering who I am or why I am here?
In fact, I am an ordinary Pre-MDM student trying to entice you with some fun facts about my experience in the program. I am a product manager, project manager, game and UX designer. I imagine in the future I will attempt a variety of roles in a CDM team. It is my choice to make, like in video games.
Then, please pick your PRE-MDM difficulty level and I will walk you through what happened in my experience.
(waiting for your choice)
OK. I have received your thoughts. Plus, I can telepathically connect with you, my readers, and answer any questions you might have along the way.
This program provided me with opportunities to restart my journey in the tech industry in a new country. Whatever I was looking for, excellent mentors and alumni, they were all there for me. When you decide to join, the most important thing is knowing what you want to experience here.
As for me, my physical body is working at a Chinese tech company, at which point, my remote one is working for the CDM, Canada. Yes! “Work!” I have more than two jobs now as the Pre-MDM program is workshop-based. You will build hands on experience with plenty of projects to get yourself prepared for the MDM program.
During the first semester, we completed a project simulation in which we came up with two game apps for a historical Cannery in Vancouver, BC, an AR cat-raising game for relaxation and various practical exercises to evolve our technical language skills. In the second term, we are handling three project simulations simultaneously. About these, more to come in our future blog posts. Perhaps you are wondering how I have been coping with all that fun stuff for so long?
I say it boils down to my life purpose.
You know what? There will be numerous tasks and challenges on the way to success and you define yourself in the process. In other words, the program is an MMO (Massively multiplayer online) RPG (Role-playing game) where you are allowed to fail, learn and achieve. No matter what kind of player you are now, you will level-up remarkably with the 8-month technical language training. I personally chose “hard mode”!
By getting your foot in the door, an enjoyable and surprising adventure is waiting for you, which is also a key element in game design. If you have more questions, feel free to follow this blog. I am convinced you will get your answers, we are all here to share our pre-MDM experience with you.
