Pros and Cons of Virtual Reality

Virtual reality has been in the limelight since its inception as cutting-edge technology. It has changed the traditional way of entertainment because VR technology has the advantages that standard equipment does not have. At the same time, VR also has several disadvantages that are difficult to solve.

The Immersive experience makes the product more popular

VR is popular because it has a higher dimension and a 360-degree panoramic view than traditional video games. Users can experience many immersions through sound, video, and physical sensations. Therefore, I am enticed by VR; I can get a better gaming experience through the vibration of the handle. This is the experience that TV and ordinary video games cannot bring to the user.

VR technology makes social activities in the virtual world seem more natural and does not create a sense of dissonance with the virtual object. In addition to the game, VR has a role in teaching, medical, industrial, and various other aspects. Its advantages are irreplaceable.

Somatosensory technology makes the product more convincing

The most critical aspect of VR technology is the gradual maturation of somatosensory technology that utilizes many sensors. People are no strangers to somatosensory technology; the Xbox series of Kinect has a good application. In some high-end VR gaming devices, designers use sensors such as gyroscopes and GPS to capture the user’s movements during the game, which can even be eye movements. There are also sensors on the handle of the device, which are designed to help the device capture user movements for a better gaming experience.

Connection cables and space requirements are the most significant drawbacks

The 360-degree scene mode of the display on the VR head has very high requirements for storage, display, processor, and other hardware, which puts forward conditions for the iterative upgrade of the current related industry chain technology. This also causes the device to require a lot of link lines to assist the user in completing the game experience because the user cannot move freely during use. In addition, most current VR devices generally have problems with screen refresh rate and dizziness, which have led to the inability to improve the user’s experience.
