The Interactive Retail Window Display

Have you ever seen a stunning window display that stops you in your tracks?

Last week I got the presentation theme “digital media during the current times” assigned by my teacher in the pre-MDM course. My team decided to work on the topic “interactive retail window display,” which interests me. Nowadays, we can use several technologies, media, methods, and tools to create an incredibly interactive storefront, such as interactive LED screens, Augmented Reality, etc. Do you know why retail stores should be considering interactive displays? Let’s dig a bit deeper!

During this pandemic, most customers prefer shopping online as it is a more convenient and safer version. For physical shops, tempting shoppers into their stores is a big obstacle. The interactive window display is one of the best solutions. To engage customers and increase sales, retailers should make their storefronts powerful and attractive for shoppers who walk past their stores. Setting themes for the displays related to brand identity and making them stunning are excellent ideas, as the display is the customer’s first impression. If they are impressed by a great experience outside, they will want to step inside and see the products. It is a brilliant marketing strategy that you could try if you have your store.

What makes interactive displays so unique?

Everyone knows that physical shops have specific opening hours, but the interactive display can make the relationship between physical and online stores more palpable. After the physical store is closed, there is a way to let shoppers outside purchase products from the interactive display in front of the store. Put the QR code link to the online store, and customers can easily use their phones to scan and buy items 24/7.

For instance, Disney created a unique and lovely experience during the grand opening. As you can see in the link below, they know how to excite visitors.

In my opinion, the interactive window display is a fantastic tool to increase sales and promote shopping in stores. People will remember a brand and will want to play along.
