I am not much of a gamer because I usually enjoy hanging out with friends outdoors; however, when I do game, I do it on Nintendo Switch. I have owned the Nintendo Switch for three years, and for a good reason. I enjoyed some impressive games, like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Super Mario Odyssey, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Mario Party, etc., and they brought me lots of fun whether I played alone or with my friend.
The first reason why Nintendo Switch is so popular is the first-party games they own. I bought Nintendo Switch in the first place because of The Legend of Zelda, the iconic game, and I believe most gamers felt the same. This type of high-quality first-party game constantly attracts gamers coming back to this console. For example, Nintendo released Animal Crossing during the pandemic, and it was the first-party game for sure. During that period, people were experiencing lockdown and adapting to a life of isolation and working from home, then the need for home entertainment increased dramatically. Animal Crossing provided a perfect virtual space to experience outdoor activities and enjoy valuable time with friends. Until March 2020, this game sold over 11 million worldwide and set a new record for Nintendo game sales.
The multi-factional console with motion sensors and a half-handheld and half-home console makes Nintendo unique and irreplaceable. Using the joy-con, the two wireless controllers of the console, gamers can engage in some physical interactions and movements. A single Switch console can support up to eight Joy-Con connections, meaning eight friends can enjoy the same game simultaneously. This makes Nintendo the perfect console for parties and social gatherings. For instance, Just Dance and Mario Party are the most popular party games, and Nintendo Switch will support four users to dance or play party games simultaneously, creating beautiful memories between games and gamers.
The final reason is affordability. The highest price of Nintendo Switch in Canada is about $700, and the lowest price reached $346 in June 2022. As we can see, it has an excellent price point, and it could be multiple per household.
In conclusion, Nintendo Switch will give you a good bang for your buck whether you are a hard-core gamer or a weekend player.
