Where’s My Water? 2 is a casual puzzle game released in 2013 by Disney Interactive Studios and continues to attract players a decade after its launch. With cartoonish style and unique gameplay, it attracts both children and adults.
I didn’t have a lot of expectations at first. After I played it, I was drawn by its vibrant colours and cartoonish characters. The control is simple and engaging; players need to guide water for the Alligators to take a shower by swiping their fingers on the dirt to create tunnels. Rubber ducks are scattered at each level; players can use them for higher scores. By progressing through the levels, players unlock different scenes with multiple features.
The one thing I liked about the game is its difficulty curve. There is hardly any tutorial; players are visually guided through interactions. The elements like props and obstacles are introduced with levels, keeping the experience fresh and challenging.
Another design element I enjoy is the rubber ducks. They increase the difficulty of levels. However, those still need to be acquired to finish a level. They are more like collectible items to get a higher score and will usually challenge players to think differently and find a way to utilize the props. These elements add another layer to the gameplay and provide a new choice to finish the level. Players can choose the easier way when they can’t think of a better solution. This way, the game fits casual players and players who like challenges.
However, I’ve encountered a minor inconvenience while navigating through the levels. The layout makes it sometimes hard to find a specific level and requires players to scroll and search for a while. Despite the minor drawback, I enjoyed playing a lot.
Overall, this game has brought me a lot of fun. With charming visuals, intelligent puzzles and short gameplay, it’s no wonder it has withstood the test of time.
