Why do we like cats?

There are a growing number of people who own cats now. The appearance of cats is their obvious advantage. The round eyes, short noses, and round faces of cats are similar to the facial proportions of human babies, so we think they are ” adorable.” But we like cats not only because of their lovely appearance.

Fascinated by their personality

Many people think they don’t get feedback from cats because they don’t like being close to people like dogs do. Cats are very different from dogs. On the one hand, cats love to keep clean; they can enjoy life, are elegant at all times, and are very independent looking unapproachable; on the other hand, they have a curious and playful nature, like a small child who never grows up. This complex, contradictory character of cats is what makes them so attractive. Besides, different cats have different personalities: naughty, easily jealous, and timid… The process of understanding cats and learning how to get along well with them is full of fun.

The sounds cats make

In my last year of undergraduate studies, I was under much pressure as I needed to apply to graduate school and complete my final project simultaneously. I was studying in the library for over 12 hours a day. During that time, the cat next to the library became my best friend. She was very close to me, purring when I got close, and always eased my anxiety. Only when cats feel relaxed would they purr. The frequency and pitch of this white noise have a hypnotic effect, calming blood pressure and making people feel at ease and calm. This is the reason we are addicted to the sound of cats.
